NZCC takes BRI and Southern Link to New Plymouth

On 19 August, Venture Taranaki and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise jointly hosted the “Exporting to China: Market Updates and Insights” event in New Plymouth. 50 representatives from businesses and exporters in the region attended the event.

Our Executive Director Stephen Jacobi delivered a presentation at the event. He talked about what the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is and what it could mean for the exporters, especially the four areas identified in our “Belt and Road Initiative – A Strategic Pathway” report: Trade Facilitation; New Zealand as a Conduit to South America; Creative Sector and Innovation. He then moved on to introduce our Southern Link Conference held in Auckland 25 June, focusing on the opportunities and barriers identified in the conference and how New Zealand and the exporters could benefit from the Southern Link.
