Andrew Poole

Andrew Poole is the Chief Executive and Managing Partner of leading New Zealand law firm, MinterEllisonRuddWatts. He is responsible for the overall leadership of the firm and driving forward the firm’s strategy and continued growth, including its dedicated China practice.

Andrew understands the legal profession and the role it can play in helping develop New Zealand’s trade relationship with China, having led the formation of another top tier legal firm’s China Desk.

Having visited China a number of times, Andrew has forged key relationships including with Mahon China. As part of the MinterEllison Legal Group, Andrew has connections with law firms in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Andrew is enthusiastic about creating opportunities to build New Zealand’s connection with, and understanding of, China to support the country’s on-going economic growth and prosperity.

Outside of law, Andrew is active in his governance roles for the not-for-profit sector. He is the Executive Chair of the Rotoroa Island Trust, Founding Trustee of the Education Hub and a member of NEXT Foundation’s educational advisory group, Waka Kaihautu.
