August 17, 2018

ExportNZ Bay of Plenty and the NZ China Council have partnered to bring you this free event on 17th Aug, presenting the report:
“Belt and Road Initiative – “A Strategic Pathway”.

Come along to learn:
-What is the China Belt and Road Initiative
How you can leverage China’s Belt and Road Initiative
The potential impact of a US/China trade war

China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is making headlines around the world. Until now there has only been limited discussion of BRI in New Zealand, with little detailed consideration of how co-operation under BRI could contribute to New Zealand’s relationship with China.

The New Zealand China Council commissioned PwC to prepare a report on how New Zealand could engage with BRI. The report focuses on how New Zealand can build connectivity with China and other countries along the Belt Road. It puts BRI in context for New Zealand and proposes four specific areas and eight opportunities that can be developed.

The event will include a presentation of the report by Stephen Jacobi, Executive Director of the New Zealand China Council and panel discussion on the four areas of opportunity identified in the report: Trade Facilitation, New Zealand as a conduit to South America. Creative Sector and Innovation.

Stephen will also speak on the potential implications for New Zealand in a China-US Trade War.

Join us to learn how New Zealand can put itself on the BRI map.
