2019 NZPGA Championship

The Pegasus Golf Club in Christchurch will host the 2019 NZPGA Championship from the 7 to 10 March 2019. The tournament will be part of a tour of Australasia’s beautiful vistas and will carry prize money of $125,000. The tournament will take place the following week after the NZ Open in Queenstown and is set to attract a strong field of professional golfers from Australia, New Zealand, and East Asia.

The Pegasus Golf Club boasts a tremendous golfing experience for golfers and non-golfers alike. The club features the magnificent 18-hole championship course, a driving range, practice greens, a pro shop, tennis courts, a well-equipped gymnasium and the friendly Bunker Bar & Café to top it all off.

The tournament committee expects to welcome upwards of 10,000 visitors from both New Zealand and overseas to enjoy both the game and the breath-taking Christchurch region.

Sino – New Zealand International Sport Education Forum

The one-day forum will be organised to introduce New Zealand’s capabilities in delivering high-quality sport management courses. Several sport talent training organisations from China will be invited to attend the Forum to engage in a common goal of developing and promoting international sport education.

The Forum will work in close collaboration with both the Kiwi Institute of Training and Education and the University of Canterbury. Each of these institutes will use the forum to showcase their industry knowledge and educational credibility that supports high quality students in pursing higher education degrees revolving around top level sport management.

This event will be hosted by the Sport & Education Corporation (SEC), the parent organisation of the Pegasus Golf Club. SEC works closely with NZ PGA, Golf Tourism New Zealand, Canterbury regional council, Waimakariri council, the University of Canterbury and many other groups and organisations to deliver sports education to the Canterbury region.
