Mahara Inglis
Mahara is the CEO of MitoQ – a New Zealand based consumer health company and global leader in cellular health for longevity and healthy aging.
MitoQ has a long history of developing pioneering products to support health and wellness in consumers around the world. Including over 60 global patents, and multiple award winning products. Whilst MitoQ is a proud Kiwi company, approximately 97% of volume is exported – primarily to China and the United States.
MitoQ has been active in the China market since 2016. In recent years they have grown their distribution materially, built a team on the ground (incl. establishing a WFOE), and expanded R&D partnerships to prestigious Chinese Universities (such as Zhejiang University)
Prior to joining MitoQ he ran the Probiotics and Ventures units at Fonterra and was a consultant at McKinsey & Company. In the early stages of his career he held various roles across government, industry and not-for-profit.
Mahara holds an MBA from UC Berkeley – Haas School of Business, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. He also holds dual undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Science from Victoria University of Wellington.
Mahara currently lives in Auckland with his partner and 3 children. In what little spare time he gets he enjoys anything outdoors (especially hiking and trail running), lifting weights, and boxing (although probably spends almost as much time rehabbing ‘enthusiasm induced’ injuries)
Mahara has whakapapa to Nga Rauru Kitahi, Ngati Ruanui, and Ngaruahinerangi in South Taranaki. His primary schooling was in total immersion Te Reo Maori in Wellington.
