Benny wins NZ-China journalism award
Reporter Tony Benny has added to the growing list of NZ Farmer’s prizewinning writers with a win in the 2016 New Zealand-China Media Awards.
Benny, who lives in rural North Canterbury, won the regional reporting award for a series of stories about Silver Fern Farms’ push into China. He joined a farmer shareholders’ tour of the country in May, travelling to Shanghai, Inner Mongolia and Beijing.
Benny is a former winner of New Zealand’s premier agriculture writing award, the Rongo Award, and earlier this year won the Federated Farmers award for rural photography.
The New Zealand-China Media Awards supreme award was won by TVNZ political editor Corin Dann.
