NZ China Council welcomes Vice-Chairman of Guangxi

Council Executive Director Stephen Jacobi was honoured to join a welcome dinner hosted by Consul General Mme Xu Erwen for the Vice-Chairman of Guangxi Jiang Autonomous region HE Huang Shitong. Discussions the dinner focused on the potential to develop further New Zealand’s relations with Guangxi which is located in the south east of China.

“New Zealand and Guangxi have shared interests in agricultural development, two-way tourism and links with the economies of South East Asia. The Vice Chairman is keen to expand our co-operation in these areas, building on concepts like ‘One Belt, One Road’ and the RCEP negotiations in which both NZ and China are involved”.

During his visit the Vice-Chairman also visited NZ China Council Advisory Board member Plant and Food Research to discuss agricultural co-operation with Guangxi province.
