NZ China Council member appointment – Antonia Watson
The New Zealand China Council welcomes ANZ Bank New Zealand Ltd Chief Executive Officer Antonia Watson as its newest member.
Acknowledging ANZ Bank’s standing as a member and strong supporter of the Council since its inception, Council Chair John McKinnon welcomed Antonia Watson who has served as the bank’s CEO since late 2019.
“The senior representation of member organisations such as ANZ Bank around our table enables us to fulfil our role as a peak cross-sector body in the New Zealand-China relationship”, John McKinnon said. “Antonia Watson’s international finance and banking experience will be a valuable complement to other members’ sectoral expertise”.
Before taking up her current role Antonia Watson served as director of ANZ Bank’s Retail and Business Banking business, and as Chief Financial Officer. She has also held senior roles at Morgan Stanley and KPMG. Antonia Watson’s bio is here.
John McKinnon also thanked ANZ Bank’s Head of Institutional Relationships & Corporate Finance NZ Steven Boyce, for representing the bank on the Council since 2020. Steve will continue his active involvement as a member of the Council’s Executive Committee.
