NZ China Council welcomes Governor of Shandong
A Shandong and New Zealand Business Seminar was held in Auckland on 11 September.
Led by the Shandong Governor, Mr Gong Zheng, the business delegation was comprised of business leaders from sixteen major companies in Shandong in areas of finance, agribusiness, construction, food and beverage, bio-medical / pharmaceutical industries.
In her speech at the Forum, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and NZCC Executive Board Member Dame Jenny Shipley said: ”The Shandong province is a very strong part of China’s economy and there are significant bilateral trade and investment links with New Zealand including the Haier investment in Fisher&Paykel, and the Fonterra joint venture hub with Abbott at Dezhou.”
The Council’s Executive Director was also pleased to meet with the Governor and his delegation at a dinner hosted by Chinese Consul General Xu Erwen.”
