Global China Connection relaunches for 2017

Global China Connection (GCC) Canterbury hosted their Relaunch Evening on Friday the 3rd of March, kicking off their 2017 year at the University of Canterbury (UC). The evening had the theme ‘E – Commerce’ with guest speakers Mike Arand representing both the New Zealand China Council and New Zealand Trade Enterprise and Pier Smulders from Alibaba Group speaking to students in attendance.

Mike and Pier shared about the importance of understanding the Chinese market for New Zealand businesses and the role E – Commerce, driven by Alibaba, is playing in today’s world. The evening also saw submissions open for GCC’s new initiative called the ‘See Me Live’ Challenge that is running through UC’s semester one and is sponsored by Alibaba.
