NZ China Council statement on passing of Christopher Adams
The New Zealand China Council is deeply saddened at the news that New Zealand Herald journalist Christopher Adams passed away in Cambodia recently.
Council Chairman Sir Don McKinnon says Christopher was an outstanding journalist and one of New Zealand’s leading writers on the New Zealand China relationship.
“As recipient of the New Zealand China Council Media Award in 2015, Christopher travelled to China to research the country’s changing economy and capital markets and how these impacted New Zealand.
“Christopher had a sophisticated understanding of China and understood the nuances of Chinese politics and culture well. He made a valuable contribution to New Zealanders knowledge of China and will be greatly missed. Our sincerest condolences go to Christopher’s family at this very sad time,” Sir Don said.
