Ambassador Wang Lutong meets with the new Executive Director of New Zealand China Council Stephen Jacobi
On July 25, Ambassador Wang Lutong met with the new Executive Director of New Zealand China Council Stephen Jacobi.
Ambassador Wang Lutong welcomed Stephen Jacobi on assuming the office, and spoke highly of the effective work carried out by the Council since its establishment to promote friendly exchanges between the two countries. Ambassador Wang noted that the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in New Zealand would continue to strengthen cooperation with the Council to jointly promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation and people to people links. The Embassy would also work with the Council to deepen understanding and friendship between the two nations and to promote development of the comprehensive strategic partnership.
Mr Jacobi briefed the Ambassador on the New Zealand China Council’s work plan, noting that the Council had committed to developing bilateral relations over the long-term. Mr Jacobi expressed his desire to build on the work of his predecessor by strengthening cooperation with the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in New Zealand, and maximizing the Council’s role of developing comprehensive relations between China and New Zealand.
