NZ China Council meets NZ Prime Minister

March 9, 2015

The annual NZ China Council Prime Ministerial Breakfast was held recently at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts in Auckland.

The breakfast is an opportunity to review the Council’s activities over the past year and discuss the New Zealand China relationship with the Prime Minister in an informal setting.

This year, more than 30 Council board members attended the breakfast with Prime Minister John Key. High on the agenda was the November 2014 visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping, with broad agreement that the visit was highly successful and constructive for both countries.

Discussion with the Prime Minister covered a range of topics, including the broadening and refreshing of the New Zealand China Free Trade Agreement, and how to maximise value from two way investment between New Zealand and China.
