Speech: NZ Ambassador to China
John McKinnon, an advisory member of the NZ China Council, the executive director of Asia NZ Foundation is soon to leave his post to take up his new position as the NZ ambassador to China. He set out some of his thoughts in the speech he gave to the Wellington branch of NZIIA.
In his speech, John McKinnon outlined the work of Asia NZ Foundation surrounding its three main activities: education; culture, including media and sport; and business. John’s vision is that New Zealand will be the first dominantly English speaking country where bi- or multi-lingualism is the norm, not the exception.
The New Zealand China Council works closely with the Asia New Zealand Foundation, and will continue to do so in the future. To read John McKinnon’s full speech, click here.
